The 2023 Captains Charity
Captain, Bob McGowan, and Lady Captain Olwen Sandiford are delighted to announce they will Support East Cheshire Hospice (ECHO) for their 2023 Charity.
The response from members and visitors in 2022 was so positive both in their generosity and praise for such a wonderful Organisation.
This year’s Captains’ Charity is East Cheshire Hospice which we’re sure you will agree is a very worthwhile and important cause in our community.
Since 1988, East Cheshire Hospice (ECHO) has been caring for people suffering from life-limiting illnesses. They put the patients, their carers and families at the centre of everything they do, and their expert medical treatment is only the start of the holistic care provided.
The Hospice prioritise each patient’s needs and wishes, aiming to improve overall quality of life with practical assistance, emotional and spiritual support. At a time when family is so important, they also support carers and relatives with social and family services, counselling, complementary therapies and much more.
All of ECHO’s services are provided free of charge to those who need them. However, only 17% of our funding is from the government and the remainder is donated by the communities served: Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Poynton, Wilmslow and everywhere in between.
We will have a number of events throughout 2023, so there is plenty of opportunity for you to be involved in various activities, sponsor members or please just make a donation.
There is also the ECHO charity shop on Park Lane in Poynton which would be most grateful of all donations and purchases.
All our donations will go a long way to supporting ECHO’s work which will improve the quality of life for people in our community.
Thank you for your support as we move through 2023.
