Regardless of who you are or where you live, no matter your profession or business success, whether you’re a junior or a senior member, golf is for all of us. Whether pro, playing off single figures, or Phantom of the Open standard, we're all equal once we’re in the clubhouse. The 19th hole is a great leveller.
This is especially the case here at Davenport Golf Club. Whilst we’d never pretend that the social side is more important than the game itself, we take our social activities seriously.
With our well-appointed clubhouse and bar, our well-stocked bar and our, well, superb hospitality team, we’re VERY well set up for socials. What better way to get to know your fellow members and become an integral part of the club?

General Social Events
Join us for a variety of social events, including Steak Nights, Quiz Nights, and Summer Barbecues. Don’t miss out on our special occasions, such as entertaining performances by specially selected local artists.
Quiz Nights
We all love our quiz nights – which include a hearty hot pot or curry supper, followed by a delectable dessert. We host those quiz nights a few times a year, so start revising your Trivial Pursuits or watch the Chase. We’re not saying it’s competitive but…
Steak Nights
There are regular ‘Steak Nights managed by our resident Chief Craig.’
Presentations
The end-of-season presentation evening for the members takes place in the autumn. This is a magnificent night, featuring the presentation of the major awards, following which there’s a sumptuous meal and an entertaining after-dinner speaker.
Bridge
During the winter months (October to March), there is Duplicate Bridge on Wednesday afternoons which is open to all members. Matches are arranged with other local Golf Clubs, usually on Friday afternoons.
Indoor Bowls
A relatively recent addition, DGC golfing members can now participate in Indoor Short Mat Bowling as part of their membership. Bowling also takes place from October through March in the main clubhouse lounge.
The Club now has five bowling teams, playing league and cup matches in the Stockport Metro League.
For the less experienced bowlers, we also have social bowling evenings with a friendly, drawn competition. Several of our members bowl regularly and new members are welcome to come along and try their hands, too.

As well as members’ social events, members and guests alike choose to hold their own special events here at Davenport Golf Club. Members know exactly how superb our hospitality and catering are. Lush parkland with beautiful views, what more could the perfect party need?
Our proximity to Poynton centre makes access easy, taxis are plentiful, and there’s an abundance of excellent hotels nearby. Our car park accommodates 100 cars, and we’re just a few miles away from Stockport and Macclesfield.
