Annual Hail and Farewell

At the annual Hail and Farewell event, the 2023 Captains, Bob McGowan and Olwen Sandiford, bid farewell to their term.

Bob led the club to success in the Manchester and District Golf Alliance – City Glass Trophy, while Olwen guided the Ladies to the second-place position in the Manchester and District Ladies Golf Association Bell Cup. The Ladies also secured victories in the East Cheshire League, ECICS, and the East vs West Cheshire Shield, claiming the prestigious title of Cheshire Champions!

Bob and Olwen’s chosen charity for 2023, “East Cheshire Hospice,” were presented with a substantial donation of £11,509.68.

Their special guest was Elvis, who entered a sellout audience.

The event also welcomed the 2024 Captains Trevor Glover and Shirley Luther who announced their chosen charity for 2024 would be The Christie.
